A Love Letter to the Gender Pay Gap Bot (And Why We Want It Back in 2025)
The Gender Pay Gap bot was not just an amusing social media experiment. It was also a necessary tool in the fight for pay equality.

The premise was simple: If a company tweeted about International Women's Day, the bot would reply with publicly available data about the gender pay gap within said company.
This made some companies look terrible. It also made some companies look great.
Those featured were helpless to do anything about it; after all, the bot was merely providing cold-hard-facts and because they were 'retweeted' the companies could not delete them.
The bot shed light on a persistent issue, raised awareness, sparked change and is a symbol for how social media and tech can be leveraged for good.
Truly, it was a thing of beauty.
Bring it back in 2025.
If the bot is not resurrected. You can see the Pay Gap data for companies based in the UK right here. This publication does not encourage vigilante action.
