About EquitableTech

At EquitableTech, it is our fundamental belief that technology should be a space where everyone has an equal opportunity to thrive, and that only by achieving this can we build technology that serves everybody in society.

True innovation can only happen when diverse perspectives are heard, valued and integrated. But structural inequalities in the tech industry continue to create barriers to participation.

We exist not as the solution, but as part of a movement working towards a more inclusive, fair, and ethical tech ecosystem.

What We Do

We aim to

  • Amplify underrepresented voices; it is our intention to feature and uplift diverse technologists, thought leaders and advocates.
  • Hold Tech Accountable; Through critical analysis and reporting. We examine the ethical and social impacts of tech
  • Support inclusive innovation; we highlight and support initiatives, startups and organisations that are actively reshaping tech for the better

Who Is EquitableTech?

EquitableTech was founded by Edward Aslin, a programmer and tech lead who has been working in the industry since 2010. As an Autistic professional, Edd has personally faced the challenges of workplace inequality and has long been an advocate for greater accessibility, inclusion and equity in tech.

Throughout his career, he has mentored and supported underrepresented individuals, helping them break into tech and thrive in the industry. EquitableTech is an extension of that work; an effort to work with others to push the industry forward.

Where Are You Based?

We are based out of a cozy little office in NW Wales, United Kingdom. Where the software company that Edd started resides. EquitableTech is a community-driven, independent publication, powered by the contributions of those who share our vision.

What's the Long-term Plan

Our immediate goal is to become a self-sustaining publication that can;

  • Pay contributors fairly for their expertise
  • Support the organisations and individuals driving change in tech

We are not here to 'fix' the industry alone. We hope to foster real conversations and support the changemakers already doing the work.

Can I get involved?

We are looking for contributors and sponsors.
