Equitable Tech; Regional Finalist at 2025 Startup Awards
We have been shortlisted in the 'Tech For Good' category, at the Wales finals.

Being the serially overcommitted person that I am, I decided at the start of 2025 to launch Equitable Tech.
After two decades working around tech, I've observed recurring patterns, that hinder progress. The names and faces change, but the underlying issues persist. Spending this much time behind my keyboard has given me a broad perspective of the landscape. I've seen a fair bit, and while cynicism has crept in, i have a lot of heart and a passion for positive change.
Early in my career, I first noticed that many of tech's significant challenges stem from homogeneous teams of practitioners, and the culture of exclusion that surrounds it. While no single initiative can resolve these issues, I believe that collective, intentional actions can drive meaningful change.
Equitable Tech is my contribution to that vision.
It's a platform to share insights from the trenches and, more importantly, to amplify the voices of diverse practitioners who are often underrepresented. I believe that these individuals are instrumental in driving the systemic changes the industry needs to become more equitable, and in turn to develop products that serve society better.
Now, just over three months into this journey, I'm delighted that Equitable Tech has been shortlisted as a finalist for the UK StartUp Awards (Wales Edition) in the category of Startup for Good.
We've also been busy creating our first interviews with practitioners; details coming soon.
It's time we all took responsibility to make tech more equitable.
